One of the most important tasks of the skin is to protect against external influences such as harmful bacteria, viruses or other external substances. In addition, it protects against excessive moisture loss. This is possible due to the skin barrier, a mixture of keratinocytes and lipids such as cholesterol and ceramides. If the skin barrier is weakened by a reduced quality or quantity of barrier lipids, there is hypersensitivity to external factors and it leads to an increased transepidermal water loss, which often results in dry skin. The EFFECT – CERAMIDE BOOSTER strengthens the skin's own barrier long-term by increasing the endogenous synthesis of barrier lipids and providing the skin with long lasting moisture.

Ceramides are essential components of the epidermal barrier lipids and, together with cholesterol and free fatty acids, represent the mortar in the brick-and-mortar model. Ceramide III are skin-identical ceramides that replenish the lipid barriers and strengthen the skin in this manner. By demonstrably reducing transepidermal water loss, they prevent the skin from drying out and also reduce roughness of the skin. The skin appears more supple and strengthened.

The patented active ingredient Revidrat™ restores the balance of the water and lipid balance of the epidermis by stimulating key enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of natural moisturising factors (NMF) and the lipids of the barrier layer.

Vitamin F glycerol ester is a complex made up of essential esterified fatty acids. What is special is its content of biologically active linoleic acid. It is obtained from vegetable oils such as peanut oil, soybean oil and rapeseed oil and is characterized by an antibacterial effect. Since linoleic acid is also a component of the skin's own lipids, it is very well tolerated. It counteracts dehydration and prevents rough and brittle skin.

Glyceryl Linoleate or fatty acid glyceride is an emulsifier obtained from vegetable oils. It helps to smooth the skin, makes it soft and supple and leaves the skin feeling pleasant.

Stressed and sensitive skin with a tendency to redness. In winter as a cure, as the skin is irritated and is mostly drier in winter due to the air from heaters, cold and wind. Morning and evening as a long-term use or as a healing treatment. Restores the skin's natural moisture level by supporting the water and lipid balance in the epidermis.

Application

Recommended use for dry, brittle and scaly skin and scalp as well as for brittle and dull hair. Also for preventive care of skin and hair.

Can be combined very well with BASIC CARE II as home care.
